SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was killed and six others were injured, including two children, after a car rear-ended a flatbed truck full of pallets early Sunday morning. 

The collision was on the northbound side of Interstate 215 just before University Parkway exit. This collision happened at about 2:11am Sunday on May 8, 2023. California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire County Department received calls of a sliver Lexus ES 350 with major front-end damage, it had rear-ended a flat bed truck full of pallets that overturned. Three people were reported to be inside the truck and four people were inside the Lexus.

Firefighters rendered aid to all victims involved in the collision. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. A female driver needed to be extricated out. Rescue crews said a total of six people were transported to a nearby hospital, this including a 3-month-old child. Three people suffered major injuries and the other three victims suffered minor injuries. 

At this time it is suspected that alcohol maybe a factor. They reported there was open containers in the Lexus, but that is currently being investigated.

The identity of the person killed is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
