The fire was reported about 3:25pm on Tuesday June 27, 2023. The so-called Lone Fire erupted near the Stockton Flats hiking/campground area and about six miles northwest of the town of Lytle Creek, according to the San Bernardino National Forest.
Help with fixed wing aircraft and ground crews along with firefighter crews worked together for more than two hours to stop the movement of the fire, holding the blaze to just over two acres of heavy brush within the wash area, near the hiking trails.
No structures are in the area and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters say crews will remain at scene to fully complete containment and tackle any hot spots that may flare up.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
