HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will continue work on a $122 million project to rehabilitate and repave traffic lanes and ramps and upgrade the drainage systems in Hesperia to Victorville in the center divider/right shoulders on Interstate 15 in San Bernardino County. This project will not add a extra lane to the freeway or for a train.

As of the end of January the project is 58% completion and still on track.

Friday night, the Northbound Main Street off ramp may be closed for striping operations.

Hours of operation: Monday night – Saturday morning

Northbound I-15 from Oak Hill Rd to Bear Valley Rd. – 9pm. to 7am.

  • Alternating lane closures, possibly bringing lanes down to one.
  • *All on / off ramps are subject to intermittent closures for crew safety and related roadwork.
  • Connector closures may take place: NB/SB I-15 to NB/SB US 395 during operations. Watch for signage.
  • NB Joshua and Main Street off ramps: Oversized loads must use lanes 1 and 2.

Southbound I-15 from Bear Valley Rd to Oak Hill Rd – 6pm. – 5am**.

  • Alternating lane closures, possibly bringing lanes down to one.
  • *All on / off ramps are subject to intermittent closures for crew safety and related roadwork.
  • Connector closures may take place: NB/SB I-15 to NB/SB US 395 during operations. Watch for signage.
  • In order to exit at SB Oak Hills off ramp, traffic must be in lanes 3 and 4.

* K-rail separates the inside lanes and does not allow access.

**Times can subject to change and could go longer or start earlier. On and off ramps may be subject to closure. Please use caution and remember to reduce your speed when approaching and driving through the construction zones. Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or construction issues.

In the event of rain – Northbound and Southbound lanes #1 and #2 will close due to potential flooding.  This will leave two lane open or one lane closed to slow traffic down.

The project is expected to be complete in early summer 2025.
