California Highway Patrol were on scene of a semi blocking the slow lane. The semi crash was located on the southbound Interstate 15 on top of the Stoddard Wells Road/Bell Mountain exit. The semi crash happened on Friday about 1:34pm March 22, 2024.
California Highway Patrol were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the freeway slow lane and the onramp to southbound I-15 while they worked on getting the semi off the guardrail.
Accident investigators believe the semi veered to the right shoulder, collided with a guardrail landed on top of the bridge guardrail.
At this time, impairment from alcohol or drugs is not considered a factor in the crash, nor is excessive speed. There is a possibility the driver fell asleep.
The semi was reported to be hauling about 35 thousand pounds of mattress material.
The driver was not hurt in the collision.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
