The solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly between the sun and the Earth, casting its shadow toward the planet.

The partial eclipse will begin in Southern California at 10:06am reach a maximum at 11:13am, and end at 12:24pm, according to NASA. About 50 to 60 percent of the sun’s area will be cover by the moon in Southern California.

The weather forecast for Monday morning should be mostly sunny. There also will be a thin marine layer during the early morning for the coast for the Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego County, and parts of the Inland Empire. Sunny skies for the mountains and all the desert cities. If you want to see the eclipse, it is best to go to the mountains or the high desert cities away from the marine layer…

𝗘𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆:

San Bernardino Valley College will be hosting a viewing party for the partial solar eclipse at the San Bernardino County Museum, at 2024 Orange Tree Lane in the city of Redlands. The viewing area will be set up on the south side of the Observatory.

It’s essential for people to use proper protective eyewear to view the eclipse, If you aren’t sure if your eyewear is safe to view the solar eclipse, you can check out NASA’s eye safety information page. There are some stores that may have viewing glasses for sell.
