LYTLE CREEK, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A small 8 acre vegetation fire broke out near the town of Lytle Creek Sunday afternoon amid cooler temperatures in the area.
The fire was reported about 3:16pm on Sunday June 9, 2024. The so-called Lytle Fire erupted near the Lytle Creek Shotting Range area about five miles northwest of the town of Lytle Creek, on Lytle Creek Road according to the San Bernardino National Forest.
Help with fixed wing aircraft and ground crews along with firefighter crews worked together for more than two hours to stop the movement of the fire, holding the blaze to just over 7 acres in heavy fuel.
Just the shooting range buildings were in danger during the fire fight. No homes are in the area and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters say crews will remain at scene to fully complete containment and tackle any hot spots that may flare up.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
