CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A multi-vehicle crash on the southbound Interstate 15 just before Highway 138 one person hospitalized and caused an hours-long cleanup Wednesday morning.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a semi was disabled in traffic lanes about 3:19am Wednesday November 20, 2024. It was reported the semi was backout (no lights on) blocking the two right lanes. A female driver in a black Nissan Versa was traveling at freeway speeds broadsided the disabled semi and spun out of control and hit the guardrail. Then seconds later, a second vehicle crash into both of them then three more vehicles and a second semi tractor trailer crash into them.

The female driver of the Nissan was taken to the local hospital for treatment. No other major injuires were reported.

The California Highway Patrol and Caltrans needed to issue a Sig-Alert for the two right lanes. It was reported about 600 yards of oil was on the roadway. Caltrans cleanup the oil spill and lanes were reopened at 9:30am.

Traffic was backup over 10 miles causing over two-hour delay.
