CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The driver walks away after a car crashed into a semi tractor-trailer and became stuck underneath the trailer in the Cajon Pass late Sunday night. (Photo above is credit by Jennifer Simpson)

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of a crash. The accident was reported on northbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass about a mile from the Oak Hill Road exit. The crash happened at about 10:39pm on December 29, 2024.

On arrival, CHP and firefighters located a red Toyota Carmy under the semi-trailer blocking the #4 and the slow lane.

The driver was able to get out of their vehicle with help by good Samaritans.

The driver also declined medical assistance at the scene.

It wasn’t immediately determined what may have caused the crash. We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at the time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
