HIGH DESERT, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A Wind Advisory for Monday and Tuesday morning. A Gusty Wind Event is for the mountains, Victor/Apple Valley, Lucerne Valley, and the Mojave Desert locations.
A low-pressure weather system is going to sweep through Southern California on Monday. Gusty south to southwest winds are expected with the weather system. This could create hazardous driving conditions and areas of blowing dust in the desert.
The Southern California Weather Force has issued a Wind Advisory for the high deserts and the mountains. With winds blowing around 40-50+ mph in the Victor/Apple Valley area. Parts of the Barstow area will have 50-60 mph winds. Lucerne Valley area will have 50-60 mph winds. Mountains will have gust 40 to 50+ mph. Stateline/Primm/Las Vegas NV. will have 30-50+ mph winds. Max wind gust will be 60 mph in spots.
Also there is a chance of rain showers mainly in the foothills, Cajon Pass, and in the mountains.
Potential for hazardous crosswinds and blowing dust on Interstate 15 from the top of the Cajon Pass through Las Vegas NV. as well as other roadways in the desert like Highway 395.
Also secure all outdoor stuff like chairs, BBQ, and other outdoor decorations.
The Wind Advisory should expire by Tuesday afternoon.
