HELENDALE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A brush fire broke out Saturday night along Mojave riverbed in Helendale. (Photo above is credit by San Bernardino County Fire)

First responders were called to the Mojave River near the end of Jordon Road and Vista Rd. for a brush fire. The fire was reported around 8:53pm on May 3, 2025. The fire dubbed the Helendale Fire, the blaze burned along the riverbed.

At 11:35pm the San Bernardino County Fire Department said forward progress on the blaze stopped at 9 acres. Firefighters remained at the scene to mop up hot spots and work on containment throughout Sunday morning.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the blaze. The cause of the fire is not known.
