SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A tractor-trailer fire late Wednesday night briefly closed southbound Interstate 215 in San Bernardino.
The fire was reported at 11:25pm June 11, 2025, on southbound I-215 near the Palm Avenue/Kendall Drive exit.
The tractor-trailer’s tires/brakes suddenly began smoking and the driver pulled over, according to the CHP traffic log.
Fire was spreading into the trailer and became fully engulfed in flames in minutes. California Highway Patrol with firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire needed to shut down the freeway to fight the fire.
At 12am they were able to open the #1 lane.
The semi was carrying an unknown product not listed on the traffic log.
No injuries were reported. The trailer was a partly lost.
Lanes were reopened around 9am.
