Remember Highway 138 is Closed Hesperia side and Phelan side after Christmas Eve Flood

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Highway 138 emergency closures between junction Hwy 2 and junction Hwy 173 due to flooding. Unknown duration.

A strong Christmas Eve storm brought flash flooding to the San Bernardino Mountains, forcing road closures to Highway 138 that remain in effect as of Saturday morning.

Caltrans crews are working on clearing and fixing the roadway.

Hwy 138 from Interstate 15 to Summit Valley Road (Hesperia side) is closed with no ETA of opening due to heavy floods and partially washed-out roadway.

Hwy 173 remains open from Hwy 138 (Silverwood side) to Arrowhead Lake Road in Hesperia with minor flooding on parts of the roadway.

A rumor from Caltrans said, parts of Hwy 138 maybe closed for about 3 or more weeks, if weather cooperates.

Drivers should use alternate routes and avoid attempting to cross flooded areas.
