BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> > The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces a $3.1M emergency repair project on Interstate 15 (I-15) at Cima Road Overcrossing in San Bernardino County. The bridge, originally built in 1961, is located at post mile 162.73, just south of the Mountain Pass area, approximately halfway between the town of Baker, California and the Nevada State Line.
Crews will perform structural repairs to the overcrossing bridge to maintain safety and preserve the integrity of the structure. Work will focus on repairing damaged bridge components over the northbound lanes. Work is anticipated to be completed by Summer 2026. See Map below.

Lane Closure Schedule:
• Cima Rd. Overcrossing: 1 lane street closure with reverse traffic control 24/7 with temporary traffic signal in place.
• Northbound I-15 FULL FREEWAY CLOSURE: Tuesday, May 26 to Thursday, May 28 at 11pm to 8am* (follow posted detour signs), as needed.
*Times can subject to change and could go longer or start earlier. Please use caution and remember to reduce your speed when approaching and driving through the construction zones. Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or construction issues.
