CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain in The Pass) >> A pickup truck ignited a small,brush fire in the Cajon Pass off of Interstate 15 Thursday afternoon.
Crews with the San Bernardino County Fire, CAL FIRE, and the US Forest Department responded to the blaze, around 2:20pm on September 24, 2026.
Officials said the fire began as a black Dodge Ram pickup truck fire on the southbound lanes of the 15 Freeway about two miles north of Kenwood Avenue exit.
It quickly engulfed less than a acre, in the center divider.
Firefighters quickly halted the forward progress of the flames, according to the San Bernardino County firefighters.
It’s not yet clear what started the truck fire or if any injuries were reported.
Officials said motorists should expect major delays in the area as crews work to knock down hot spots for at least one hour.
