SLIVERWOOD LAKE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Extreme fire danger and dry conditions are only expected to worsen in the coming days and months in the State Park, leading officials to increase fire restrictions to the second highest level.
Starting Wednesday, August 25, 2021 until rescinded, Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area will implement a parkwide fire ban for all open ground campfires with the ignition of wood or briquettes in a fire pits, fire pans, and barbeque grills. The restrictions include campground, around the lake, picnic day-use areas and wilderness locations inside the parks. Campfires are ONLY allowed in the campground in park-provided fire rings. Use of charcoal is allowed in park-provided grills ONLY in the campground and designated picnic areas. Propane or gas stoves, heaters, lanterns and portable gas fire pits are still allowed at this time.
With this it brings the park in alignment with fire bans in adjacent state parks and some US Forest Service lands like The Angeles National Forest. The San Bernardino National Forest has no bans at this time. These bans are in place to reduce the risk of human-caused wildland fire. Sliverwood Lake SRA Park fire danger is extreme with hot weather, dry conditions continue.
