HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A five acre brush fire was quickly contained by firefighters Friday afternoon off of Interstate 15.
The fire dubbed the 395 Fire was reported at about 12:27pm Friday, July 21, 2023. The located of the fire was on northbound Interstate 15 at Highway 395 in the city of Hesperia.
With help from CAL FIRE, and San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters were quickly on scene. The fire had consumed about five acres. At one point the fire could have potential for 10+ acres with moderate rate of spread.
Crews were able to stop the forward progress at roughly over one hour.
Update with better mapping the fire burned 40 acres.
Firefighters will be remain in the area for mop-up operations make sure no hot spots flare up. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
