BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Barstow Road Highway 247 was closed Tuesday afternoon due to flooding, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
In an X post from Caltrans District 8, both directions of state Route 247 were closed at Charro Rd near Slash X, south of Barstow is closed due to flash flooding.
Unknown duration of clear at this time.
An online weather stations in the Barstow areas showed rainfall totals between one plus to as much as two inches in areas of the open desert as of 5pm.
Update at 7pm Caltrans said, Hwy 247 will be closed until further notice. Our engineer crew will be onsite tomorrow morning, to conduct assessment’s of damage from today’s flash flooding.
