HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Traffic was at a standstill on northbound Interstate 15 just after Joshua Street exit after a reported vehicle fire Wednesday afternoon.
Details are limited at this time, but according to the California Highway Patrol said, the fire was reported around 12:06pm. The vehicle was on the right shoulder along the northbound side of I-15, between Joshua Street/Highway 395 and Main Street exits.
The vehicle, was described as a maroon color SUV possible a Jeep with bicycles on the back.
Due to the intensity of the flames and heavy smoke, CHP officers temporarily had to shut down all northbound lanes to fight the flames.
At 12:30pm CHP open the left lane and at 1pm they opened the middle lane.
Traffic data shows northbound I-15 traffic was backed up before the Ranchero Road exit.
Everybody did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames.
No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
