HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Northbound Interstate 15 has re-opened after a trailer from a semi-truck caught fire late Sunday night in Hesperia.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire received calls of the semi tractor-trailer on fire on northbound I-15 just after the Main Street exit on the right shoulder. The incident happened about 10:48pm November 23, 2025.
From the CHP traffic log stated flames were coming out of the rear brakes on the trailer. The semi driver was able to detach the cab tractor from the trailer to save the semi-truck from catching fire. From reports the trailer was carrying a full load of sea food in boxes.
CHP and fire department temporally shut down all northbound lanes to fight the trailer fire.
After about over an hour, they were able to open one lane, so traffic could bypass the scene.
It looks like a problem with the rear brakes on the trailer cause the fire.
No injuries were reported.
