BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A motorcyclist died Tuesday morning after crashing into a construction site on Interstate 40, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Vincent T. Rodriguez 66-year-old of Barstow was riding his motorcycle just after 7am December 16, 2025, on the eastbound I-40 freeway, east of Iwo Jima Street, according to the CHP.
He was riding a 1992 Honda motorcycle when, “for reasons still under investigation, the rider veered to the right, causing the motorcycle to strike a traffic cone within an active construction zone,” CHP officials said in a written statement.
After the initial impact with a cone, the rider continues to lose control towards the right shoulder, and subsequently struck a construction vehicle, which was parked on the right shoulder of the freeway.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.
