HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A traffic collision was unfolding on northbound Interstate 15 after a hazmat spill involving a heavy military truck and a charter bus shut down multiple lanes on a busy Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 12:28pm April 30, 2026, when dispatchers received reports of a military vehicle in a ditch and a green charter bus on the right shoulder of northbound I-15 just before the Bear Valley Road exit.
Emergency personnel from San Bernardino County Fire were dispatched to the scene, and the California Highway Patrol was notified of a crash with multiple people in a charter bus and a hazmat spill on the right shoulder of the freeway.
Details about what led up to the collision were unclear at this time.
All lanes were closed for over 30 minutes for the cleanup and to move the large military vehicle out of the ditch and to check for injuries of everyone involved in the collision.
Diesel from the military vehicle spilled onto the right shoulder and the ditch which called for a hazmat incident.
Emergency crews are working the scene, and conditions could change as cleanup continues.
Traffic was backup all the way before the Ranchero Rd at one point.
No injuries were reported in this incident.
