FONTANA, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> California Department of Transportation Caltrans will begin a new Pavement Rehabilitation Project on Interstate 15 in the city of Fontana on April 27 – May 4 (Yes the weekend).

This roadwork project includes repaving the three lanes in both directions, repaving the on and off ramps, replace the bridge guardrails, and slab replacement in lanes.

Roadwork on the northbound 15 side will start just before Sierra Ave to Glen Helen Parkway.

Roadwork on the southbound 15 side will start just before Glen Helen Pkwy to Sierra Ave.

  • Monday night – Friday morning. Starts at 7pm until 7am each morning. At least 1 lane will be open.
  • Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night, and end at 4am Monday morning. Starts 10:30pm until 4am. At least 1 lane will be open.

Sierra Ave and Glen Helen Pkwy on and off ramps may be closed during the closure time.

Caltrans expects to complete the project by February 2021.

The work schedule will be subject to change due to weather or construction-related issues.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and to always reduce speed through work zones.
