HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person killed, two people airlifted following a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 15 just after the Main Street exit early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash. It was reported at about 1:22am, Saturday December 4, 2021. The crash was located on the southbound Interstate 15 at the Main Street on ramp.

According to the CHP traffic log, a small sedan became disabled for reasons still under investigation. It was in the the slow lane reportedly with no lights on (black out) which led to the deadly crash. The impact from the crash causes two people to be ejected from a black BMW crossover SUV and both were lying on the roadway. Also involved in the crash was a the big rig fully loaded with mail, that lost control and hits the center divider then rolled over on its side blocking all the traffic lanes. At this time it is under investigation and it’s unknown who hit the disabled vehicle, according to the traffic log.

Firefighters rendered aid to the two people ejected and the other people injured from the collision. Rescue crews requested two helicopters to transport. Two people were transported by Mercy Air #2 and #22 from the scene to a nearby trauma hospital with unspecified injuries. One person was pronounced deceased on scene by CHP. The big rig driver was reported to have only minor injuries.

This crash is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Victorville Station. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Please check back for updates on this incident.
