WRIGHTWOOD, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Caltrans is asking people to hold off on visiting the area until the community recovers from the current snow emergency. Maybe next weekend if the weather is favorable.

All roads to Wrightwood like Highway 2, Lone Pine Canyon Road, and Hwy 138 to Silverwood Lake remain closed due to heavy snow and ongoing snow removal this weekend.

Until further notice they are ONLY allowing Wrightwood residents and public services to travel on Hwy 2 in Wrightwood.

“So, if you were to come up this weekend, you’re not going to be able to play in the snow.” Mountain High Winter Resort will be closed this weekend.

Silverwood Lake closed at Hwy 138 at Hwy 173.

The main reason for the closures is for public safety. Even one accident could shut down the highway for hours, and drivers could be stuck in freezing temps. Also there is no parking for visitors at this time.
