OAK HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting the public that construction contractors will perform work al for the $25M Cajon Weigh Station Relocation Project.
This project is to relocate the southbound Cajon Weigh Station and Truck Safety Check Area in the Cajon Pass. The project is anticipated to be completed by Summer 2026 (weather and/or other factors may affect the construction schedule).
Roadwork on Southbound Interstate 15 in Hesperia to Oak Hills at the top of the Cajon Pass this week.
The following locations are scheduled to be closed for K-rail removal. Crews will perform work during nighttime hours from Thursday, May 7 through Saturday morning, May 9, beginning at 8pm and concluding in the morning.

Closures will take place at following locations:
LANE CLOSURE: Lanes 2, 3 & 4 of 4 between Ranchero Rd. to the end of the new truck scales at the top of the Cajon Pass on SB I-15 ONLY 1 LANE WILL BE OPEN at night.
• Thursday night, May 7 – Friday morning, May 8: 8PM to 5AM.* Both Southbound Ranchero Rd onramps will be CLOSED. Southbound Oak Hill Rd offramp and onramp will be CLOSED.
• Friday night, May 8 – Saturday morning, May 9: 8PM to 7AM* Both Southbound Ranchero Rd onramps will be CLOSED. Oak Hill Rd. Southbound offramp and onramp will be CLOSED.
Expect major traffic delays at night and in the morning commute. Plan ahead and allow extra travel time during these hours or take an alternative route.
*Times can subject to change and could go longer or start earlier. Please use caution and remember to reduce your speed when approaching and driving.
