MOUNTAIN PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department have identified the driver who was killed in a deadly rollover accident on Interstate 15 last Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 3:10pm Sunday December 11, 2022. The location of the crash was on northbound Interstate 15 about two miles before Nipton Road in the Mountain Pass area near Stateline.. California Highway Patrol, Clark County Fire Department, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving a white Jeep Wrangler and a unknown sedan. The roadway may have been wet at the time of the collision.
A 56 year-old Larry Johns, a resident of Catonsville Maryland, the driver of the Jeep. Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle and reportedly landed in traffic lanes from the CHP traffic log stated. Larry was declared deceased at the scene of the accident. The passenger was transported by Mercy Air #7 helicopter from near the scene to Las Vegas University Medical Center in critical condition with no new update on there condition.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.
