BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two people were injured Wednesday morning when a semi tractor-trailer rear-ended another and caught fire on northbound Interstate 15, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred on northbound I-15 about 5 miles before the Halloran Springs Road exit around 3:31am June 18, 2025. Two semi collision were reported to be in the right shoulder of the freeway.
Another semi coming up behind him in the same lane didn’t slow down and slammed into his trailer, catching fire. CHP said the driver and passenger of the semi that rear-end the semi caught fire were able to get out of the cab with minor injuries.
The semi that caught fire was carrying a full load of cauliflower in the trailer. The other semi was carrying a load of beer and spirits in its trailer.
No word yet on what led to the crash. We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
