LUDLOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Interstate 40 in the town of Ludlow.
The crash was reported about 7:09am on May 6, 2026, came from an automated crash notification system from an iPhone. The location of the crash was on the eastbound lanes of I-40 about 3 miles after the Crucero Road/Route 66 exit, according to California Highway Patrol officers and the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
CHP traffic log said three vehicles were involved in a crash including at least two semi tractor-trailers.
Responding units arrived to find two people inside a semi, authorities said.
No additional information about injuries unknown at this time.

Updated on the fatal crash from the investigation. The driver and passenger of the semi tractor-trailer were both killed in the 3-vehicle crash on I-40 Wednesday morning.
A woman driver and a man was a passenger of the semi. “For reasons still under investigation the unidentified driver failed to yield to stopped traffic ahead, resulting in the collision with three semis.
Both were deceased at the scene and their identities were not yet released.
