FONTANA, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> California Department of Transportation Caltrans will continue the new Pavement Rehabilitation Project on Interstate 15 in the city of Fontana on May 29 – May 31. (Yes the weekend)

This roadwork project includes repaving the three lanes in both directions, repaving the on and off ramps, replace the bridge guardrails, and slab replacement in lanes.

Roadwork on northbound and southbound 15 side from Sierra Ave to Glen Helen Pkwy.

Lane closures for southbound will start just before Glen Helen Pkwy to about a mile after Sierra Ave.

Lane closures for northbound will start at about a mile before Sierra Ave to Glen Helen Pkwy

  • Friday night roadwork starts at 7pm, Saturday all day, ends at 12pm noon Sunday. At least 1 lane will be open all weekend in both directions. EXPECT DELAYS up to 30+ minutes.

Sierra Ave on and off ramps and Glen Helen Pkwy on and off ramps will be closed in both directions during the closure time.

The work schedule will be subject to change due to weather or construction-related issues.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes by taking the 215 freeway or side streets and to always reduce your speed through the work zones.

Caltrans expects to complete the project by February 2021.
