FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Department of Transportation Caltrans will continue the Pavement Rehabilitation Project on Interstate 15 in the city of Fontana on Friday February 19 – Sunday February 22.
This roadwork project includes repaving the four lanes in both directions, repaving the on and off ramps, replace the bridge guardrails, and slab replacement in lanes.
This weeks lane closures will be on the southbound side. Lane closures will start at about a mile before Glen Helen Pkwy to Sierra Ave.
- Roadwork starts at 8pm Friday night, ALL DAY Saturday, ends at 12pm* Sunday morning. One lane will be open, the #2, #3 and #4 lane are planned to be closed all weekend in the southbound directions.
- EXPECT DELAYS at least 30 minutes to over a hour+ on the peak time. (peak time is 10am-6pm)
Also Glen Helen Pkwy on ramp and Sierra Ave off ramps will be closed during the closure time.
Motorists are advised you to use alternate routes by taking the 215 freeway this will be the fastest way, not side streets.
*Lanes may open earlier if they finish early.
The work schedule will be subject to change due to weather or construction-related issues.
Always reduce your speed through the work zone.
Caltrans expects to complete the project by June 2021.
