VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Driver in a pickup truck lost control on Amargosa Road rolls over onto the southbound Interstate 15 ditch/shoulder. Caused traffic because of lookie loos on Wednesday afternoon.

Victorille Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Victorville City Fire Department received calls of a dark gray Chevy lifted Silverado pickup truck. The accident happened before 3pm on May 27, 2020.

The male driver, the only person inside the truck, was going south on Amargosa Rd. For a unknown reasons, still under investigation, he lost control and mowed down a traffic signal pole and about 30 feet of chain link fence. Then finally landed on its roof in the ditch of the southbound side of Interstate 15.

Traffic on southbound I-15 was backedup due to people looking at the upside down pick up truck in the ditch.

The accident happened at the intersection of Amargosa Rd and the Mall of Victor Valley in front of the Outback Steakhouse and the Olive Garden restaurants.

Northbound Amargosa Rd. from Bear Valley Rd to the Mall entrance,was blocked for a couple of hours due to the pole down in lanes.

The driver was not seriously hurt and was transported to a nearby hospital to be checked out.

This incident will be under investigation by the Victorville Police Department.
